Fast-Track America's Mineral Future

Sign the Petition to Demand Common Sense Permit Reform Now

About The Petition:

Domestic Mining Permit Reform Petition Purpose:

We call on Congress and federal agencies to reform domestic mining permits—cutting approval times to under 3 years while maintaining environmental standards. Current delays of 7–10 years keep the U.S. dependent on foreign adversaries for critical minerals.

Background & Urgency:

America imports over 50% of 50+ mineral commodities. Demand for lithium, cobalt, nickel, and rare earths is soaring. China controls most of the supply chain. Without immediate reform, the U.S. risks permanent reliance on unstable or hostile sources.

Desired Action:

We urge:

  • U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources
  • U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources
  • U.S. Department of the Interior
to enact legislation streamlining mine permitting to under 3 years.

Evidence & Impact:

  • USGS: U.S. imports >50% of critical minerals.
  • IEA: Lithium demand could rise 40x by 2040.
If passed: Jobs, security, and cleaner domestic production.
If not: Continued dependence, higher costs, and supply disruptions.

Who We Are:

Sponsored by Make America Mineral Independent Again (MAMIA), a nonprofit advocating for U.S. critical mineral independence.
